GEH and Equipos Nucleares S.A. (ENSA) control rod blade and fuel channels segmentation technology offers a tailored solution to support the nuclear industry with a verified method to reduce nuclear waste volume and maximize spent fuel pool storage capacity.

On the first deployment, the remote underwater cutting solution processed 240 control rod blades and 12 fuel channels with optimal results, which has increased the spent fuel storage capacity up to 120 free pool locations.

With GEH and ENSA´s segmentation technology, customers continue to operate efficiently during normal plant operation, as no boron nor tritium is released in the spent fuel pools. The technology offers high performance with a flexible configuration which is being utilized today with our global customers.
